photography was created in 2005 by Dan Wymer following a number of
photographic commissions for friends and friends-of-friends. Dan's passion for photography began in the late 1990's while studying Architecture at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Using the SLR his parents bought him for his 18th birthday, Dan took roll after roll of photos of famous architectural subjects ranging from Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, the Media Centre at Lords Cricket Ground, to the arrival of the Millennium Bridge on Tyneside. The eve of the year 2000 saw Dan's first foray into formal portrait photography. Dan and his closest friends travelled to France to celebrate the New Year with a bang! Dan insisted on taking his trusty SLR to capture black and white portraits of everyone in their best threads. Two of his friends, who had celebrated with Dan in France, were to get married and approached Dan to be their official wedding photographer after liking his pictures from the New Year celebrations. Since then Dan has continued to increase his experience and develop his style with commissions including not only further weddings but also live music events. Dan has continued to capture his love of Architecture on his travels around the world globe although now he is using the brand new Canon 350D digital SLR. dan wymer As well as a BA(Hons) in Architectural Studies, Dan has an MSc in Computing Science from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. After leaving university Dan worked for a science company in Oxfordshire as an online marketer and web editor. Dan's ambition is to be able to expand his photographic repertoire so that at some point in the future he can work for himself as a fulltime photographer. |
